Requirements to Apply for BACS:
- Hold the LCSW license
- Verify at least 3 years of full-time social work experience at the LCSW level
- Complete a board orientation workshop
- Complete a board pre-approved workshop on the theory and techniques of supervision as well as procedures used in supervision toward licensure
- 2 signed letters of reference to the board from other professionals (one of whom must be a LCSW) who are familiar with the licensee’s work, including supervision skills
All requirements must be met before the application is approved. Applications are approved every 10 – 15 business days. LCSW must have BACS designation approved before beginning supervision with a LMSW for the purpose of licensure.

Requirements to Maintain BACS:
- Maintain LCSW licensure
- Appropriately conduct all supervisory duties explicated in 503
- Complete 3 hours of continuing education in clinical supervision every 2 years
