The Board exists because the legislature declared “in order to safeguard the public health, safety, and welfare of the people of this state against unauthorized, unqualified and improper practice of social work, it is necessary that a proper regulatory authority be established and adequately provided for.

Office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Board observes all state holidays.
In compliance with La. R.S. 44:33.1 the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners hereby gives notice that information submitted to the Board may become public record pursuant to the provisions of Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et. seq.
